How to download bulk users from Microsoft Entra ID in Azure

To download bulk users from Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), you can use the Azure portal’s export feature. This allows administrators to extract user details into a CSV file for reporting, auditing, or migration purposes.

Export Users via Azure Portal

The simplest way to download users is directly from the Azure portal.

Step 1: Sign-in to the Azure Portal

Go to Azure Portal.

Step 2: Go to Microsoft Entra ID

Search for Microsoft Entra ID using the Azure Portal’s search bar to access its dashboard. Otherwise, you can also simply type “Entra ID” in the top search box to open the service directly.


Step 3: Navigate to Users under Manage section

Go to the Manage section and select Users from the menu.




Step 4: Download the users

Select the Download users button from the top toolbar to export user data.



Click the Start bulk operation button to initiate the user download. After the success notification appears, select the generated file to begin downloading it to your system.
